We pride ourselves in our work and offer workshops in schools and early learning centres. The age range for this particular workshop is 7-10 year old, but this can be altered for special circumstances. The daily workshop runs through the school day and will include breaks for the students.
HOURLY: £25 Per hour
DAILY: £200 PER DAY (8AM-4PM)
WORKSHOP DETAILS:
Pufflings workshops are split into 2 sections:
READING
Objective:
– To be able to listen and encourage a child to read to me/the puppet in a more relaxed environment (this can be with a mainstream or special needs pupil).
Content:
– Puppet doesn’t know how to read-ask child to read to us, with support.
COMMUNICATION FOR CHILDREN WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES
Objectives:
– To be able to communicate and engage with a child with slightly different needs than that of a mainstream child.
– For the child/children to engage and communicate with the puppet and feel relaxed around both myself and the puppet
Content :
– Puppet can’t remember their own name- get child to help him/her remember. The child is being encourage to speak or indicate many names. There is no right answer. The puppet will eventually settle on a name suggested.
– Unsure how to play with a certain toy/ certain equipment- Ask child to show puppet how it works (puppet will help and encourage the child). They will figure things out together and then play together, taking turns and communicating in the most appropriate manner for that child.
We are also very open to ideas from teachers and to assist on activities they have already planned.
NOTE: Although these workshops are specifically designed for children with special needs, we are open to working with children in the mainstream sector.
